Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics of Sonitpur Polytechnic came into existence in 2017, from the very inception of this institute.The new syllabi of diploma courses are designed in alignment with the technical curriculum of higher education. Mathematics is taught up to second semester for Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering whereas it up to third semester for Electrical Engineering. The objective of the department is to impart quality education that enable students to apply mathematical knowledge to the problems arising in various disciplines of Engineering. Currently, there are two faculty members in the department.

Vision of the Department- To provide the students a strong foundation of mathematics for formulating and solving complex problems in various fields engineering.

Mission of the Department-

• To foster an environment for critical mathematical thinking for engineering solution.
• To impart quality education necessary for a strong foundation in allied branches of engineering.
• To instill ethics and values through curricular and extra- curricular activities.
